Tempe Spanish Academy Mission

Tempe Spanish Academy

Tempe, Arizona, is full of diverse individuals, ranging from college students to senior citizens, so it is fitting that the city values and honors Hispanic culture. According to the 2006 American Community Survey, there are 159,765 total residents in Tempe. About 36,210 of those people are of Hispanic or Latino origin while 22,052 Tempe residents speak Spanish in the home.

Because there is such a strong Hispanic and Latino influence in the Tempe region, there are many activities and events for adults and children who wish to learn about Hispanic culture. The Arizona Children’s Festival takes place in Tempe in the spring, and its purpose is to promote respect among children for other cultures by displaying music, dance and artwork by various elementary students.

The large number of Hispanic residents is just one reason for your child to learn the Spanish language. Why do you want your child to speak Spanish? Using the form to the right, please share any comments you may have.
